Called “Würger” by German pilots – meaning shrike – the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8 was an improved version of the popular Fw 190 A-8 fighter, adapted for ground attacks. Equipped with strong armament, additional armor and an improved power supply system, it was excellent in low-altitude assault operations.

Its role in the final phase of the war was invaluable – it became a pillar of the Luftwaffe's war tactics and one of the most common German combat aircraft.
