V-1 FLYING BOMB (FI 103)
Build the legendary V-1 Flying Bomb rocket from blocks and discover the secret of one of the most dangerous inventions of World War II!
By building one of the most mysterious weapons of those years with the V-1 Flying Bomb (Fieseler Fi 103) set, you will travel back to World War II and discover one of its secrets.
Developed by engineer Fritz Gosslau, the V-1 was the first weapon to combine the features of an aircraft with the properties of a missile, constituting one of the most terrifying inventions of war technology and becoming the foundation for later ballistic missiles.
Powered by a jet engine, the V-1 reached speeds of up to 640 km/h and had a range of 250 km, enabling attacks on targets in Great Britain. The first attacks on London took place in the summer of 1944, and the rocket used a simple navigation system based on an odometer, which allowed it to precisely reach its target. The V-1 was mainly produced in Germany, in special plants in Peenemünde, and later in other secret locations in occupied Europe. In addition to London and the coast of England, V-1 rockets were used to bomb cities such as Antwerp and Lille.
The V-1 was part of the German "V" retaliatory weapons program and was the prototype of later rockets such as the V-2. Although less effective than the V-2, the V-1 rocket had enormous demoralizing potential. After the war, this technology had a major influence on the development of ballistic missiles in the USA and the USSR.
The V-1 Flying Bomb (Fieseler Fi 103) set allows you to recreate the historical model of this rocket, which allows for a better understanding of this mysterious weapon.
